I  totally understand.  This is why I create ready-to-go high school art project resources designed to not only save you prep time, but also make your time in the classroom more meaningful and productive.

A Little Bit About Me and My Art Teaching Journey

I am Lauren and I have been teaching high school art for 25 years.  I am blessed with an amazing family and what I believe is the most rewarding and fulfilling job ever.

I love finding new ways to structure my life so that I know all of my students are getting the best, most present version of myself no matter what the day brings without sacrificing time with my amazing husband and children.

In a perfect world we would all have small class sizes, long periods, single level classes, great attendance, no interruptions, and all the art supplies we could ever need. We would be able to give every student all of our focus and attention all of the time and never have to bring work home.

I have certainly had years just like that, but that has not always the been the case. Some years I’ve AP students mixed in with Art 1 classes, kids leaving for sports and guidance appointments, students leaving for senior leave or work study etc. The school structure is always changing and It can be a challenge to meet everyone’s needs, with so much to juggle.

A few years ago, I felt like I needed a clone of myself in the classroom to be able to teach multiple levels at once, answer my constantly ringing classroom phone, review instructions to students who were not present, and also be able to make sure every student was growing and their developing skills and techniques properly .

I started creating art lessons and resources that my students could access if they needed to catch up or move on while I was busy with another group.

They could see step by step instructions, student examples, video demonstrations, worksheets, reference images, and rubrics all from their own devices whenever they needed to. I found that when I was creating art lessons and materials for my classroom time would stand still.

I am passionate about doing what you what you love and sharing those gifts with others.

In 2018 I opened a TPT shop to help more art teachers save time, feel more prepared, organized and ready for any teaching situation. It has been so rewarding and fulfilling.

I’ve made so made many connections with other amazing art teachers, that I now consider friends. In such a rapidly changing world it is so important to grow and learn together. I created this site to do just that.

Sometimes a fresh perspective, time saving trick, or easy to use lesson resource can be a huge game changer. The simplest things can save hours of time and give us the ability to really reach all of our students more deeply and take our teaching to the next level.

I hope you will find something here to help you save time in your art classroom and inspire you.

📖 On my blog you will find articles about teaching strategies, art project ideas, and anything to make your day a little in the art room a little brighter.

🎥 In the videos section I will also share classroom hacks, classroom organization tips, and instructional drawing videos you can use in your classroom.

🎨 In my resource shop you will find complete art lessons and activities that will save you time both in and out of the classroom.
